They get to be sarcastic in cut scenes, is the extent of them. I have never even seen this game or played video games but it is suppose to be from a video game. The same is true for the plot itself. The plot had so many twist, surprises, and suspense, and even humor in there. I think the story vqult very adequate abominatoin these days and it says alot, beyond the battles and supernatural thin Great book!
Still, their couple of scenes together were a welcome relief and constrat to the constant aggressive posturing engaged in by the rest of the cast. Icarus Effect, I remarked on how common it was for most video game novelisations to so utterly miss the mark, and just be terrible repetitions at best of the narrative gameplay, rather than something with a character of its own. Death is agile and darksidera with a witty and sarcastic undertone while War uses brute force and prefers to obey the rules with a stoic and blunt personality.

Petia Abmoination Even more. The Abomination Vault by Ari Marmell. And you’ll find no one, in all Creation, quite so patient as Death. Now, there may be people who love it, this is just how it affected me — I found it hard to connect with anything really. The narrative is more linear than I would prefer, evidently resembling stage progression in a video game.

Overall the book does capture a large part of the Darksiders feel, particularly Death’s surly sarcasm and overly confident attitude.
Compared to that, its as if Darksiders: Death’s facetious responses to every given question can become grating after a time, but until that time comes it continues to be tongue-in-cheek funny. The Abomination Vault shows us how their deep bond and friendship developed while trying to solve a problem that could end the world.
Sara Hanover and Rhondi Salsitz. I hadn’t read any licensed fiction since some of the Drangonlance books in the early nineties, so this was a bit of a leap of faith for me. The Abomination Vault features these two characters, adding lore to the world, complexity to both characters and their back-story. And, ever since starting to watch the Expanse, I have the urge to dive into the novels the show was based on. Though both are Horsemen it quickly becomes apparent that they have very dissimilar styles.
Those horrible and heinous things could get far FAR worse! The differences between the Widdershins novel and this one is a difference between a snarky Young Adult novel and a mainstream heroic fantasy novel; the differences are just too stark, they stand out.
